Textbook: Issues & Physical Science (SEPUP) and Introduction to Physical Science (Glencoe) can be checked out as needed.

Conference Period: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays 9:00-10:00am by appointment

Classroom Expectations:

All students are expected to arrive on time with all needed materials.
All students are expected to participate in class.
All students are expected to follow all safety procedures.
All students are expected to follow the guidelines set by HCCMS-refer to Parent/Student Handbook.
All students are expected to stay current on any missed work-refer to Parent/Student Handbook.

GRADING SCHEDULE

Pleasure Reading will be every Wednesday. Students are required to have a grade level appropriate chapter book to read at this time.

Test/Quizzes/Projects 20%

Labs/Classwork 40%

Homework 15%

9 weeks exams 15%

Mid-term exams 10%

UNITS OF INSTRUCTION

Studying Materials Scientifically (2 weeks)

Force and Motion (7weeks)

The Chemistry of Materials (6-7 weeks)

Water (2-3weeks)

Energy (9 weeks)

Waves (9 weeks)

4th 9 weeks exam study guide was begun in class on Friday May 10th. A copy can be found in the document manager. Students should finish portions not corrected in class by Monday, May 13th. They may wish to use the notes, physical science in review, also in the document manager. The exam will be on Wednesday, May 15th.
Team 8-2 will have their Morning on the Lawn on Tuesday, May 14th. Students may bring sporting equipment if they wish. No cameras are allowed.

Students who are missing assignments should check the science HW folder in the document manager. They may print out or hand copy the missing work.

8th grade dance - May 11th, 7 pm until 10 pm
4th 9 week exams - May 14th, May 15th and May 16th
Last day of school for the year - May 17th

HCCMS policy requires students to have an agenda with them at all times. Replacement agendas are available in the main office for $5.00.
