Dear Families,

Welcome to Fifth Grade!  I'm very excited to begin this new school year as a Creekside Warrior.  I look forward to getting to know each and every student and his/her family.  This summer I have been working hard to make plans for the new school year.  We will have a great year together as students work on being independent and responsible learners in our classroom.

  This will be my fourteenth year of teaching and my sixth year as a fifth grade teacher.  I taught third grade for seven years in Florida and Alabama.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Columbus State University, and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Troy State University. 

  Please read through the student/parent handbook as a family.  Many important classroom and school policies and procedures are outlined there.  If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them.  Please return all signed materials back to school by Friday, August 16th. 

  Open communication between school and home is extremely important.  Please contact me any time you have questions or concerns during the year.  I will make frequent contact through newsletters, emails, notes, take-home folders, and phone calls.  You can reach me through email at ferrone-h@harris.k12.ga.us or by school phone.

  I have high expectations for my students and value respect and responsibility.  These are the ideals that will be the foundation for our classroom code of conduct and daily procedures.  I'm happy to be a Creekside Warrior, and look forward to a great school year!
