Harris County Carver Middle school is offering Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) Language Arts classes to 7th and 8th graders during the 2012-2013 school year. Pre-AP courses are on-grade level academically advanced courses designed to challenge students to understand rigorous content. The coursework requires students to engage in analytical assignments and to complete enrichment reading and writing work outside of class. Pre-AP middle school courses are designed to prepare students for high school Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

All students participating in the Pre-AP program must complete a summer reading project. The following documents provide the different summer reading requirements for both 7th and 8th grade students. Additionally, you will find Culminating Activity Rubrics specific to 8th grade. All documents have been updated prior to posting.
